Weekly Update #2

Top Image

It’s been just two weeks since we launched Menu, please! and we’ve now grown to 70 active users! 🚀 We’ve learned a ton already, and this week’s update brings a bunch of improvements based directly on your feedback.

A special shoutout to Reddit user u/Yasuman — not only did they help us fix the Android camera upload issue, they were also our first user interview. Huge thanks!

✨ What’s New

🍎 Apple Sign-In Signing up is now easier for iOS users — over 60% of you are using Apple devices, which should make getting started even smoother.

📱 Progressive Web App (PWA) Support You can now add Menu, please! to your home screen and it’ll behave like a native app — fast, fullscreen, and with fewer distractions. Give it a try!

🔢 Dish Numbers If a menu has dish numbers, we now include them in the dish name. This makes it easier to match what you see in the app with the physical menu.

💸 Dish Prices We’re now showing estimated prices for each dish. While they might not be 100% accurate, they’re super helpful for identifying items at a glance.

đź›  Fixes

  • Google Sign-In redirect bug: Fixed an issue where some users couldn’t log in via Google.
  • Android 14+ camera fix: On newer Android devices, only image upload was available — the camera option is now back. (Thanks again, u/Yasuman!)
  • Increased image limit to 7MB: Now, bigger images can be added for translation. This should help with image upload from the camera roll.

Thanks so much for being part of this early journey. Your feedback is shaping every step of the way, and we’re just getting started.

More updates soon — and have fun exploring 🍽️
